FACEBOOK

A new device. A familiar feeling.

I creative directed and produced Facebook Portal’s 10-day holiday pop-up in SoHo. With agency and production partners, I helped turn an empty 6,000-square-foot space into a home where visitors could try Portal through familiar rooms and live conversations.

Invite people to get together

The campaign introduced a hands-on way to meet Portal, with themed rooms and in-character talent on the other end of the call.

Inside the experience

More than 3,000 visitors came through the activation over 10 days.

Make a memory to send home

With POPsocial, I designed a custom portrait environment, including a print carried across furniture, décor and matching garments. Visitors could share their portraits and create holiday cards. The team captured over 5,000 portraits and printed or emailed 2,500 cards.

The response beyond the space

The activation earned coverage from more than 30 media outlets. Reported results included a 400% increase in positive social mentions and an 800% increase in Portal sales in the NYC market during the campaign, with no products sold on site.
